George Finch designed this point block for the London County Council in the late 1950s. Buildings like this were planned to provide affordable, modern housing for a mix of Londoners. It enabled people to stay in the communities they grew up in, as well as living and work locally.
50 years later it was used on the cover of G2 to illustrate the disastrous effects of the "right to buy" policy on inner-city London.
